This is a great opportunity for kids to try the great game of lacrosse before the Spring season and for others who want to keep a stick in their hands and develop their skills while having fun.
Program Structure: This is "open" lacrosse. There are no set teams or practices. Each week we will spend some time on skill development and overall instruction to enhance everyone's lacrosse IQ and then we will play open games--sticks will be placed in the middle and tossed into piles to divide players. Coaches and Yorktown HS players will help teach the kids, develop their skills and coordinate and help run the activities and encourage kids to have fun. We will be running multiple mini-games/scrimmages (7v7 plus goalie) the width of the field to keep all kids involved.
Full equipment: Boys need Lacrosse Helmet, stick, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves and mouth guard. Mouth guards for all ages. Please wear sneakers NO CLEATS OR SPIKES.
Please bring a reversible pinney (green, dark blue or black and white on the other side) so may can be placed on either light or dark team during the session. (Jerseys will not be provided)
If you are interested in playing goalie: We have a number of chest protectors, pants and sticks you can borrow.
