Hello YAC Lacrosse Parents,
We wanted to provide a few updates as we inch closer to starting our spring lacrosse season. We are all very excited to get the kids back out on the fields and having some fun!
I wanted to lay out our format and practicing schedule for each age group. As we get closer, each age group will have a lead coordinator who will email you with more details.
STARTING ON SUNDAY APRIL 3rd
K/1- will be Sunday morning clinics 8:30am-9:30am at Legacy Turf Field in Yorktown.
-NO equipment required. Boys should have a stick and wear sneakers or cleats
- This will be clinic style all season
2nd Grade- will also be on Sunday mornings from 8:30am-9:30am at Legacy Turf Field in Yorktown
-The boys will wear full equipment (helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, mouth piece and a stick)
-Coach Al will be schedule a few controlled games for the boys this year. This is brand new for us and we are very excited.
STARTING ON MONDAY MARCH 21st (pending P&R approval- we will send an update out)
3rd/4th Grade- will be on Monday and Wednesday nights from 5pm-6:30pm at Legacy Turf Field
-Full equipment
-The 3/4 group will practice together and games will be played 7v7 side y side (2 simultaneous games)
-We are in the process of finalizing the schedule and most games will be on Saturdays
5th/6th Grade- Will be on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6pm-7:30pm at Legacy Turf Field
- The 5/6 group will practice together
-based on final registration numbers we may have 2 teams or most likely 3 pods like last year
7th/8th Grade- will be on Monday and Wednesday nights from 7:30pm-9pm. There will also be Friday night practices (same time) or games
-The 7/8 group will practice together
-There will be a Husker Team and Yorktown Team. The coaches will evaluate each week and share the rosters several days before the games. Everyone will be invited to one of the two teams so everyone will play. One week you may be on the Huskers and one week you may be on Yorktown.
I hope this helps. Please reach out with any questions or concerns.
