2017 Boys Lacrosse Program


YAC Boys and Girls Fall Open Lacrosse for K-8 grades

Dates:  6 sessions with potential for 8 sessions -
September 10th - 6:30pm to 8:30pm
September 17th - 6:30pm to 8:30pm
September 24th - 6:30pm to 8:30pm
October 1st - 6:30pm to 8:30pm
October 8th - 6:30pm to 8:30pm
October 15th - 6:30pm to 8:30pm

​Below dates will either be treated as rain dates or bonus dates.
October 22nd - 6:30pm to 8:30pm
October 29th - 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Time:  Sundays  Grades K-4 -  take the first hour  - 6:30 to 7:30pm

                Grades 5-8 -  take the second hour  - 7:30 to 8:30pm

Location: Legacy Turf Field off Rt 132, Yorktown Heights
               The field will be split. Boys on half of the field, Girls on the other side

Cost  - $60

Who can attend:  The goal is to keep each group (K through 4th and 5th
through 8th) limited to 60 players (60 girls and 60 boys) per group to maximize playing time.
Boys and girls in K-8 who families are YAC members. All skill levels (Beginners to Very Experienced) are invited to play.  This is a great opportunity for those who may be interested in seeing what the great game of lacrosse isall about before the Spring season begins and others who want to keep astick in their hands in the Fall.

Program Structure:  This is "open" lacrosse.  There are no set teams or
practices. Each week sticks will be placed in the middle and tossed into
piles to divide players.  Coaches will be there to help coordinate and
help run the activities and encourage kids to have fun.  We will be
running multiple mini-games/scrimmages (7v7 plus goalie) the width of
the field to keep all kids involved.

Registration Details - Registration opens on Monday, August 28th. Please
go to yacsports.org  Boys go to Boys Lacrosse and click on On-line registration, Girls go to Girls Lacrosse and click on register online.
Important: You will need to be a member of USLacrosse and membership
needs to be valid through November 2017. You will not be permitted to
register if this membership is not up to date.

Full equipment:
Boys need Lacrosse Helmet, stick, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, mouth guard, and athletic cup. Mouth guards for all ages (even the k
through 4 group)
Girls need a stick, protective goggles for eyes, mouth guard and water.

Please bring a reversible pinney (green, dark blue or black and white on
the other side) so may can be placed on either light or dark team during
the session. Do not buy any pinneys, we have extras for the players.
(Jerseys will not be provided)

If you are interested in playing goalie:  We have a number of chest
protectors, pants and sticks you can borrow.
