YAC Boys Spring Lacrosse K-8th grades
When: Start date is April 1st but we hope to begin sooner, weather dependent
The YAC boys lacrosse program is designed to provide a safe, fun, developmental program for children in grades K-8th. Each of our divisions offers a different degree of competitiveness, however at all levels we strive to develop a child’s love for the game so that he can truly appreciate all aspects of the sport, gain an understanding of sportsmanship, and learn what it means to be part of a team. Each level of the program is outlined below.
· Mighty Mites (7U)- K and 1st grade clinic (sticks only)
· Pee Wee - (8U) 2nd
· Bantam – (9U/10) 3rd and 4th grade
· Junior – (11U/12U) 5th and 6th grade
· Senior – (13U/14U/15U) 7th and 8th grade
Each week we will spend time on skill development and overall instruction to enhance everyone's lacrosse IQ and skills. 3rd-8th grade will practice twice a week and play games while particpating in jamborees and tournaments. K-2nd clinics will be run on Sunday mornings 9:00-10:00. We will end the season with everyone participating in our own tradition the Charlie Murphy Tournament on June 3rd. Qualified, knowledgable coaches and Yorktown HS players will help teach the kids, develop their skills and their love for the sport throughout the season.
